Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that works on changing negative thinking patterns and unhelpful behaviors, and pushes for healthier behavioral changes. With DBT, you have multiple ways of dealing with some of life’s most challenging psychological problems. These include strategies that focus on changing behaviors, as well as those that will help you succeed when you can’t change difficult situations.

The overall goal of Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training is to help you increase your resilience and build a life experienced as worth living. Dialectics teach us a synthesis of how to change what is AND how to accept what is. These skills groups focus on four modules: emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. The central aim of DBT is to replace ineffective, maladaptive, or non-skilled behavior with skillful responses. Join The Middle Path and live in the moment with effectiveness and joy.
